THE BEST KID-FRIENDLY RESTAURANTS ON NANTUCKET

One of my most frequently asked questions this summer has been about the best kid-friendly restaurants on Nantucket. I’ve sent my list to several friends visiting the island this year and wanted to share it in one place so you can come back to this post if you’re planning a trip! I have a ton more recommendations in my Nantucket guide here but I’m always happy to answer questions in the comments here or on Instagram!

The Best Kid-friendly Restaurants on Nantucket

1. Millie’s

A forever family favorite (my siblings and cousins worked here for years and they catered our welcome party!) and my number one kid-friendly restaurant recommendation on Nantucket. The only restaurant in Madaket on the west side of the island, it’s a commitment to drive here from just any other part of the island. But it’s worth it for outdoor picnic table seating, killer quesadillas and tacos (on the kids’ menu too), my favorite margarita on the island, and a must-see sunset over Madaket Beach after an early family dinner.

They don’t take reservations so arrive early to put your name in or expect a wait! Millie’s Market next door sells beach wares, ice cream, and t-shirts if you wind up having some time to kill.

2. Island Kitchen

Our go-to for brunch with breakfast sandwiches, chocolate chip pancakes, and plenty of kid-friendly fare with ample outdoor seating and an ice cream shop next door.

3. Oath Pizza

A make-your-own-pizza counter right in town overlooking the Hyline ferry dock, this is a go-to for an easy no-frills dinner with kids. Pro tip: download their app and order ahead (so you can cut to the pick-up end of the line!) or expect a long wait around lunch and dinner.

4. Sandbar at Jetties

Your standard kids’ menu fare — chicken fingers, hamburgers, French fries — that you can eat with your toes in the sand. It’s an easy spot to grab lunch in the middle of a day at the beach or to come back for dinner and enjoy alongside an amazing sunset.

5. Summer House Beachside Bistro.

A beachfront spot in ‘Sconset where we had our wedding reception, the Beachside Bistro (not the main restaurant up top!) has an extensive kids’ menu and plenty of yummy options for adults too. Just note that there’s a very steep wooden staircase to descend down to the restaurant. So it’s best to leave the stroller at home!

6. Cisco Brewers

I know a brewery isn’t an obvious choice for kid-friendly dining, but tons of food truck choices and regular live music make it an easy place to keep little ones fed and entertained.

Pizza takeout at Nantucket beach

7. Bonus idea:

Pick up takeout and head to the beach! We love going to 167 Raw (if your littles will tolerate guacamole and/or fish tacos) or Bartlett’s Farm (if fish tacos are definitely not happening) and heading to Ladies Beach for a beach picnic.

There are also a ton of sandwich shops in town that make for an easy kid-friendly dinner at Brant Point lighthouse or Children’s Beach — just know some close well before the dinner hour, like Provisions (4 p.m.) and Something Natural (6 p.m.), though Fresh stays open until 9 p.m. and also sells wine, spirits, and sweet treats.

I hope this is helpful! I’ll link my Nantucket guide again here as it really is a resource I’ve poured a ton of time and love into but I’m happy to answer any questions in the comments!
