GIRLS’ WEEKEND IN CHARLESTON

So many of you requested a recap of our girls’ weekend in Charleston — it sounds like lots of you are headed that way in the coming months! My friend Jillian lives in Charleston and planned out our entire itinerary with some of her favorite places around town. We celebrated Christmas in Charleston a couple years ago and I did my bachelorette party there as well, but there’s always more to explore and I come away from every trip with a bunch of new faves! Here’s everything we did this past weekend, but definitely check out Jillian’s Charleston guide as she’s the real expert!

Ali, Carly, Lauren, and I all arrived at different times on Thursday and made our way to The Inns to meet up with Jillian. If you’re looking for a vacation rental in Charleston, I cannot recommend The Inns more highly! We stayed in the upstairs unit at 154 Spring Street and it was perfect for our group of five. From the pink door and two-story porch to the chic bathrooms and seriously dreamy beds, it was simply made for a girls’ weekend! (You could also rent the whole house for a bachelorette!) The location was walking distance or a short Uber ride to everywhere we visited during our stay and I seriously wish I knew who makes the mattresses because we all had the best nights’ sleep each night!

We had dinner at Melfi’s on our first night, 167 Raw on our second, and Trattoria Lucca on our third. We also had cocktails at Baba’s, Vintage, and the new Citrus Club at the Dewberry Hotel throughout the weekend. For breakfast, we went to The Daily one day and Basic Kitchen the next. I think my favorite spots were 167 Raw, the Citrus Club, and Basic Kitchen, but honestly I don’t think it’s possible to have a bad meal (or drink) in this city!

My bestie Ali was kind enough to snap a few outfit pictures one day — I so miss taking each other’s pictures when we lived in Dallas! Here I’m wearing a Ralph Lauren boys’ sweater (size L but I should have gotten the M as it’s a little baggy — you can read my sizing tips here!), Frame jeans, Celine sunnies (similar here, here, and here), J.McLaughlin bag, and Stubbs & Wootton needlepoint slippers.

One of the highlights of the weekend was a candle making workshop at Candlefish. I had picked up a couple of their candles over Christmas a couple years ago and was excited to come home with replacements — little did I know we’d be making them ourselves! Ali and I picked out #27 and #80 (their scent library has over 100 numbers!) and they turned out just like the real deal. The whole workshop took a little over an hour and then we went back to pick up our finished candles the next day. It was so fun to learn about the process of making candles and would be a great activity for a bachelorette weekend as you can bring your own wine!

Another highlight was getting to see the home that Jillian and her husband Edwin are in the process of renovating downtown. I have been begging her to share more of the process on her Instagram stories (fingers crossed!) but suffice it to say it is going to be AMAZING once it’s complete! Talk about a dream project. ??

Last but not least, we popped into the new Lake Pajamas boutique downtown and each picked out a pair of pajamas to commemorate our trip! (I actually got this bathrobe which is the softest EVER.) The store is absolutely stunning (it was designed by Olivia Brock, who’s designing Jillian’s new house!) — I’m in love with the very Nantucket-y gallery wall and of course the Nine Fair backgammon set.

Definitely pop over to Ali, Carly, Jillian, and Lauren‘s blogs to say hello — so lucky to have these girls in my life!
