MY BABY SHOWER

I wish I’d done a better job taking pictures at my baby shower this past weekend but I was honestly having too much fun to think about my camera! I’ve realized as I’ve gotten older that there are only a few occasions in life where you get to have all your favorite people in the same place at the same time (I remember feeling this way after my bachelorette party and our wedding weekend) and I’m incredibly thankful that I got to experience that again this weekend. My bff Ali and cousin Emily (both of whom are also pregnant with baby boys, ahh!) threw the most beautiful, personal, thoughtful event and I’m still on cloud nine three days later.

Ali and Emily ordered a big tray of my favorite Cobb salad from Rory’s and set up lots of apps in my parents’ backyard. The display of onesies made me tear up! Ali had her friend Kate embroider each of them and it’s safe to say baby boy’s closet is well-stocked with monograms! I won’t be sharing the baby’s name on the blog until he arrives but you can see his initials on the onesie on the left. 😉

I couldn’t believe Ali brought these personalized cups and napkins on a plane from Dallas! I’m not sure where she had them made but you can find sources for similar personalized party goods I’ve ordered here and here.

My mother-in-law sadly couldn’t make it to the shower but she sent Ali with these adorable cookies for the festivities! If you’re in Dallas you can order cookies through her Instagram.

Ali and Emily asked each guest to bring an inscribed baby book in lieu of a card and both Will and I were so touched by that idea! I’m so excited to finish our nursery and fill it with carefully selected books from our family and friends.

I’ve been living in painting clothes for the past few weeks (you can see our home progress updates so far here, here, and here!) and really felt like I had nothing to wear to the shower. Thankfully my cousin Emily wore this adorable t-shirt dress out on Friday night and let me borrow it Saturday afternoon! It’s from a new-to-me brand called Muji and it was the comfiest thing I could possibly have worn at 35 weeks pregnant (along with my go-to espadrilles).

Speaking of painting, Will and my dad were supposedly going to spend most of the shower playing golf and then show up at the end to say hi to everyone who’d come to town. Instead they turned up covered in paint having put the first coat of paint on our master bedroom! I truly have never been so surprised in my entire life and I couldn’t be happier to have one more project crossed off our house to do list. Husband and dad of the year for sure!
