Happy Fourth of July! I hope most of you have the day off to head to the beach or parade and sip a glass of rosé underneath the fireworks. The Nantucket fireworks actually aren’t until tomorrow night but we have seven friends arriving this morning (yay!) so I’m crossing my fingers there’s a beach day and an al fresco dinner in our future. And if you’re not able to take the day off hopefully you at least have a chance to take advantage of some of the Fourth of July sales below. I hope you all have a great one!

What is everyone up to for the Fourth of July? We have kind of a crazy weekend ahead with a wedding in New Jersey on Friday, a quick trip to Nantucket Saturday and Sunday, and either hanging at my parents’ house in Connecticut or heading into the city before our flight home on Monday. There will be a lot of driving so we’re hoping to start a new audio book in the car to get us through (I’m hoping to persuade Will to start one of these!). Since our plans are all over the map this year (…literally) and I’m not even sure where we’ll be watching the fireworks from, I thought I’d share my Fourth of July shoot from last year for anyone who’s doing a little at-home entertaining this year.

You can see the rest of last year’s shoot here. Have a great weekend, everyone!

Will and I are going to be in Portland for my cousin’s wedding on July 4 this year so I decided to gather some talented friends and put together a festive backyard bash a couple weeks early. If you’re planning a patriotic get-together for the holiday weekend, I hope you’ll be inspired! From the calligraphy place cards and the pink and red florals to the fruit skewers and strawberry champagne, I was head over heels for every last detail. I had so much coordinating this shoot and hope to bring you tons more entertaining features in the months to come! Enjoy!

You know when you stumble upon a website and your heart starts racing a little bit because you know you’ve found something really, really good? That’s really the only way to sum up how I felt upon discovering Tuckernuck. I’m so honored they’ve decided to sponsor Design Darling!

The site was co-founded by three young women (the same group that brought you UScoop!) inspired by the “clean-cut American aesthetic” they experienced in their college days. What I love most about the site is that it’s introduced me to a handful of preppy brands outside my usual go-tos. A way to stay true to my style, experiment with new-to-me brands, and support small business? Sign. Me. Up.
{Saint James striped shirt}
Obviously I’m also coveting this version!

Pointed toe espadrilles. Seriously? These need to come live with me right now.
This playful combo reminds me of this post so naturally I love it!
I 100% need this for summer weekends on Nantucket!
The 4th of July is right around the corner…!
Red denim is a summer/fall must-have — especially styled with the very monogrammed sandals I wear day in and day out!
Nautical perfection. Need I say more?

Oh and there are clothes and accessories for girls and guys!!! Basically it’s where I’ll be doing all my shopping and gift-giving now right through Christmas. Who’s with me? Shop here and let me know what you think!

It gets to the point every Connecticut winter (even when it’s as mild as this one has been) that I’m itching for a little escape. My boyfriend and I booked a weekend trip to Concord, Massachusetts, for March and I’ve already penciled in Nantucket for the 4th of July. Can you say overeager?
This insane bathroom featured in Lonny (which, by the way, is going monthly — have you heard?) rather strikes my fancy for that reason. Where are you itching to travel these days?
