If there’s one thing every girl needs to survive fall in style (and every guy for that matter), it’s a Barbour jacket. Lightweight enough for a cool breeze but easy to add layers underneath on cold winter days, it’s an outerwear investment that you’ll wear dozens of times each season. Because the silhouette is less slimming than a dress coat or trench, I like to pair mine with skinny jeans (these equestrian leggings would be perfect too) and tall boots. P.S. I’m on the lookout for a new pair of leather riding boots if anyone has any recs!

A few notes on sizing… For the jacket, I wear the US size 2 / UK size 6. And if you order this sweater one size up from your usual size (e.g. a small instead of the extra small), it will no joke be the comfiest item of clothing you own. And in case you were on the fence about a Barbour jacket, here’s another genius part of adding one to your outerwear collection: if you live somewhere with extra chilly winters, you can also order a zip-in liner for added warmth!

I don’t know how I grew up on the east coast without a Barbour jacket but now that I have one, I completely understand what all the fuss is about. We’ve officially reached the point in the season where you’d have to be insane to leave your apartment sans jacket, gloves, scarf, hat, boots, two pairs of socks, etc. What I’m loving about my new Barbour is that the silhouette is pretty tailored on the outside (and much warmer than my beloved field jacket) but leaves ample room for layering underneath and pairs well with all my existing winter accoutrements.

I’m at the point in my pregnancy where nothing really fits and I’m more comfortable in pajamas than anything else. I’m desperate for it to warm up a bit so I can trade my winter coat for a few easy dresses — I think I felt cuter at the end of my pregnancy with Teddy when it was summer and I could throw on a flowy dress, slip into sandals, and call it a day (see: every outfit in this post). Between the two dresses in this post and the one I’m about to share here, I just need the weather to cooperate so I can power through these final six weeks in something besides these leggings (which are admittedly an everyday staple, pregnant or not).

I ordered this dress from Amazon on a whim and was surprised by how much I love it in person. I hate to spend a ton of money on clothing I’ll only wear during pregnancy, but this dress is not only crazy affordable but perfectly wearable pre- and post-pregnancy as well. It’s not a maternity style, but the swingy silhouette is easy to wear with a bump if you size up (I’m wearing the size S here). The fabric is also super soft for this price point so it really is comfortable either lounging around the house or out and about. I’m planning to wear it with a denim jacket or field jacket and sneakers for this transitional season, my go-to sandals or espadrilles this summer, and even with a Barbour jacket and booties come fall. I haven’t tried it yet, but this dress is a cute short-sleeved version that looks equally versatile, particularly if you live in a warmer climate!

On the heels of yesterday’s 50 gift ideas for her, today’s post is all about shopping for the men in your life! These are all gifts I’ve given to my husband, dad, brothers, and father-in-law over the years and I hope they give you some inspiration as you start tackling your holiday shopping. Many of these will go on sale for Black Friday and Cyber Monday in a couple weeks so feel free to bookmark this post and come back to it when you’re ready to shop!

Apple AirPods, $129

One of Will’s favorite products of all time. We gave my brother Camden a set for Christmas last year and he’s equally obsessed!

Mark & Graham monogrammed AirPod case, $30

If someone on your list already has and loves his AirPods, how about this monogrammed leather case?

23andMe health and ancestry test, $99

If your family hasn’t done these yet, they’re such a fun group gift idea! Will and I gave these to all four of our parents last year and think it’s cool Teddy will have so much background on his grandparents’ DNA.

Vineyard Vines gingham shirt, $98.50

All the men in my family live in gingham shirts from Vineyard Vines. A new color is always a welcome gift!

Nordstrom driving loafers, $89

The best affordable driving loafers and a go-to annual gift in our household.

Smathers & Branson needlepoint belt, $175

Will wears a needlepoint belt nearly every day since he’s been working from home and they make me so happy! This American flag style would be a timeless addition to his collection.

Etsy custom needlepoint belt canvas, $82.50

Relatedly, I think Will would agree the custom needlepoint belt I made for his 30th birthday is the best gift I’ve ever given him. It took me forever to finish, but what guy wouldn’t be thrilled to open a just started custom canvas on Christmas morning? This shop will help turn your ideas into a custom canvas and even outfit you with the threads you need to get started.

A no-brainer gift for any coffee drinker.

Mark & Graham vegan leather travel pouch, $59

Another thing he wouldn’t think to buy himself and will be delighted to open on Christmas morning.

Nantucket Print Shop framed Land Rover print, $225

An investment piece that looks great on guys of all ages.

Mark & Graham leather wallet, $89

I gave this to Will three years ago and it’s held up beautifully.

Google Nest white thermostat, $136

Will swapped out all our thermostats for these after we renovated our kitchen this spring — he loves that he can control the temperature of the entire house from his phone and I love the way they look! Win win.

Ralph Lauren pajama pants, $44

A practical gift as we head into winter and a worthwhile upgrade from any old college sweats he has lying around.

J.Crew slippers, $59.50

If you have a dad/husband/brother who’s working from home this winter, these shearling-lined slippers will be a huge hit.

Spikeball set, $56

Will and my brothers live for this game that they play on the beach all summer.

Apple Watch with navy sport band, $479

Will’s cost-per-wear on this is practically pennies at this point — he wears it for everything from tennis to tracking sleep.

Ralph Lauren cable-knit cashmere sweater, $398

The softest sweaters ever. Another investment piece that looks great at every age.

Hydro Flask water bottle, $49.95

I really didn’t know it was possible to be this passionate about a water bottle until I tried it myself… and now I’m hooked.

Nektech neck and shoulder massager, $39

We are obsessed with this thing in our house and I love getting DMs from you guys saying you love it too! This is one of those gifts that will be passed around on Christmas morning and probably ordered by everyone else in the house.

Vineyard Vines fleece vest, $128

A great layering piece over button-downs and sweaters.

Tuckernuck monogrammed tennis bag, $100

Will’s been playing a lot of tennis lately before it gets too cold outside — this tote would be a great way to organize all his gear.

Rumbleroller foam roller, $69.95

The best foam roller for muscle recovery. Any fitness buff will be thrilled!

Ray-Ban clubmasters, $154

Sunglasses that flatter nearly every face. My dad, husband, and brothers all wear them!

An instant upgrade to beach or boat days.

J.Crew cashmere scarf, $98

Being social is going to require some extra bundling up this year and a cashmere scarf is a stylish addition to any winter wardrobe.

Ralph Lauren quarter-zip pullover, $98.50

An everyday wardrobe essential — I particularly love this light blue and the dark green.

Huffy men’s beach cruiser, $193

How cool is this charcoal bike? I love the leather handles and simple metal basket.

J.Crew pocket t-shirt, $29.50

Will lives in these pocket t-shirts that I buy in multiples whenever I catch them on sale. I love adding a diamond monogram for a little personal touch!

Ralph Lauren swim trunks, $69.50

Classic swim trunks in the best colors. Here’s hoping it won’t be another year until we’re all able to travel to the beach…!

Sperry boat shoes, $94.95

An under $100 gift for any guy on your list.

Samsung Frame TV with white frame, $1,470

A big ticket item that the whole family will love. You can see ours in our family room here!

Yeti Rambler tumbler, $30

Will uses this size for iced coffee and smoothies, especially on walks outside with Teddy.

Amazon leather desk chair, $249

If you have a guy on your list whose home office could use some love with all the extra time at home, Will loves this rolling chair we got for his desk.

Tuckernuck face mask, $20

2020/2021’s must-have accessory.

J.Crew half-zip pullover, $100

If any of my other picks feel too preppy for the guys you’re shopping for, this is a slightly more rugged pick that would suit a number of different styles.

L.L. Bean boots, $139

Every guy needs a good pair of winter boots. I like the 8″ version best.

Ralph Lauren beanie, $48

Will loves this beanie we got for him last winter and I think either of my brothers would love it too!

J.Crew topcoat, $400

An investment piece you can often find 40-50% off this time of year. So handsome on men of all ages!

J.Crew leather gloves with cashmere lining, $98

A good gift for dads and fathers-in-law who have everything else.

Amazon new Echo Dot, $59

How sleek is this smart speaker / alarm clock? This is the kind of gadget I don’t mind looking at.

Nike running sneakers, $160

My dad’s been in a great running routine of late and would love these bright blue sneakers.

Mark & Graham wallet with Tile tracking, $80

A brilliant concept for the guy who’s always misplacing his wallet.

J.Crew MacAlister boots, $148

A great everyday pair of shoes for the fall and winter.

iRobot Roomba vacuum, $299

He’ll never look at chores the same way again.

Mark & Graham leather briefcase, $299

I love this classic piece with or without the tiny gold initials.
