Our bags are packed, our car is stuffed to the brim, and my dad, husband, and I are headed to Nantucket tonight! (My mom and youngest brother will join us once they’re back from Kenya — I’m living vicariously through their trip here!) Bring on the family time and the floating time for this 27 week bump — I’ve been daydreaming about being in the ocean for weeks and the day is finally here!
I’m often asked about what to pack for a trip to Nantucket and while I have a few ideas in my Nantucket guide, I wanted to put together a list of the specific items I’m bringing with me this summer for those of you with similar destinations on your calendar. Per usual my Nantucket packing list for summer features lots of stripes, white jeans, basket bags, comfy dresses, and shoes like espadrilles and Jack Rogers that are easy to walk in (don’t be the girl twisting her ankle in heels on cobblestones!). I spend most of my time on Nantucket relaxing at the beach, hanging around our house, and (let’s be honest) waiting in line for ice cream at Juice Bar, so there’s nothing fancy here (and the navy dress or jumpsuit will work for dinners in town and my Grandy’s birthday in a couple weeks!). You can expect to see most of these photographed for the blog over the coming weeks so consider this a little summer sneak peek!
I ordered this striped shirt in a size up in all four colors to get me through the rest of my pregnancy, which might have been overkill considering I also love this striped maternity shirt that has a swingier fit, but they’re easy to throw on with white jeans for a casual dinner at Millie’s or even over a bikini for an afternoon at the beach.
P.S. My Nantucket guide has all my recommendations for where to eat, where to shop, and what to do on island.
